Project description and objectives
MediaMiner S.r.l. is an innovative start-up founded in March 2024 and
based in Turin, specialized in advanced Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
The MediaMiner Business Plan project covered the development, consolidation
and industrialization of a proprietary CTI platform based on Artificial Intelligence
and multimodal data processing. The solution addresses the growing need of
enterprise organizations to proactively identify and mitigate the uncontrolled
exposure of sensitive data, credentials and confidential information within
multimedia content (photos, videos, image streams) published online and on
social networks or stored in corporate infrastructure.
Through Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
models developed in-house by the research team, MediaMiner not only automates
the recognition of exposed assets, but also adds cybersecurity context to them
and correlates the information to outline potential cyber attack scenarios,
while suggesting the corresponding mitigation actions.
Results achieved
The Business Plan, supported by EU Cohesion Policy and Regione Piemonte funds, made it possible to achieve the following key results:
- Technology Readiness Level (TRL) advancement: The platform evolved from an initial TRL 4/5 to the completion of modules at TRL 7 and above, enabling market validation of the solution through Proofs of Concept (PoC) carried out with leading industrial and commercial groups.
- Architectural evolution and data sovereignty: A highly scalable modular architecture was developed, available for both Cloud and On-Premises deployment. This removed the platform's rigid dependencies on third-party providers, making it possible to serve customers with strict security and corporate data protection policies.
- Team growth and local impact: The initiative enabled the hiring and development of highly specialized professionals (Data Scientists, Backend Developers, UX/UI Designers), drawn mainly from the Piedmont talent pool, strengthening the scientific partnership with the I3P Incubator and the Politecnico di Torino.
- B2B commercial validation: The first major promotion and commercial networking activities were launched, laying the groundwork for expanding the direct and B2B2B sales network.
